School Of Emergency Medicine
Basic Life Support (BLS) / Healthcare Provider teaches CPR skills to be used on victims of all ages, the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED), and the relief of a foreign-body airway obstruction. This course also includes instruction on ventilation with a barrier device, and a bag-valve-mask device. Healthcare Provider is designed for those who provide health care to patients in a wide variety of settings, including in and out of hospital settings. These healthcare providers may include (but are not limited to) physicians, nurses, paramedics, emergency medical technicians, respiratory therapists, physical and occupational therapists, physician assistants, residents or fellows, medical or nursing assistants or students in training, aides, and other allied health personnel. This is a 4-5 hour course.
