Course Description:
This Wilderness First Aid Course is offered in partnership with the National Park After Dark Podcast hosts Danielle and Cassie. NPAD has hosted exciting trips all over the world and now look forward to incorporating Wilderness Medicine Education into their trip offerings.
Curriculum: The Wilderness First Aid (WFA) course is designed for the outdoor enthusiast, trip leader, recreationalist or land agency field staff who spend time in rural or wilderness areas. The WFA is a great introduction to wilderness medicine and basic life support skills. This training focuses on prevention, assessment, and treatment of environmental illnesses, recognizing and stabilizing life threats
caused by trauma, addressing common medical concerns and calling for a rescue in the event of a wilderness emergency. Curriculum follows the Wilderness Medicine Education Collaborative (WMEC) guidelines.
Upon completion of this course, you will receive the following:
Location: This course is held at a unique summer camp and conference center with 184 acres of private wooded land and one mile of shoreline on Lake Winnipesauke,situated in the foothills of the White Mountains, in MOULTONBOROUGH, NH
Meals & Lodging: Breakfast, lunch and dinner will be provided by the Geneva Point Center. On-site lodging is also provided in shared cabins with bunkbeds. There is a nearby bathhouse with single-sex showers and bathrooms.
